District Negligence in Responding to Instances of Bullying Causes Real Damage to ALL Students

A jury just awarded $1m to a family whose student was bullied at school. They found that the District was negligent in handling the situation. This judgment is in addition to what I can only imagine are a few hundred thousand in attorneys fees. This kind of cost to a District is ample reason to be sure responses to allegations of bullying are thorough, complete, and swift. Failure to act or to prevent subsequent incidents cost millions - and that hurts ALL the kids in a District.
